Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder heaped praise on his Leeds counterpart Marcelo Bielsa, when he insisted the Argentine had “sprinkled his magic dust” on the team he considers as “the best team in the division”.

He was speaking ahead of the top of the table clash at Elland Road on Saturday lunchtime, in a game that could have huge connotations on the automatic promotion race.

According to the BBC Sport website, Wilder told BBC Radio Sheffield: ” The manager [Bielsa] has worked at the highest level and they’ve gone all out to get him to turn their club around.

“He’s sprinkled his magic dust and they’ve got a good group of players.”

Bielsa, who could see his Leeds side open up a five point gap between themselves and their third-placed opponents with a win tomorrow, was mutually respectful of his opposite number.

He said: “I have learned a lot from Sheffield United, they are the one of the teams from which I have learned the most this season.

“They have a new style of playing and they have been faithful to that all season, each player is giving the best of themselves.

“When we played against them [earlier in the season] it was a hard win and probably we didn’t deserve to win. It’s a big challenge to try and beat them.”

But Wilder stressed that, although it is undoubtedly a huge game, it will not make or break the season for either club, following social media comments from Leeds defender Pontus Jansson who said that it would be “the biggest game of our lives” for many of the players.

Reacting to the comments, the Blades boss said: “I respect what he has to say as an international footballer and it gives a big boost to whoever gets the result but it’s not season-defining.

“I think that shows a total lack of respect for the teams we’ve got left to play. If we won it would claw back the deficit that we are in behind them and if they win then they stretch that lead.

“The way the Championship is at the moment all of the teams have got something to play for.”

It promises to be a great atmosphere between the Yorkshire rivals, and regardless of Wilder’s comments, a win for Leeds would surely see them in a virtually unstoppable position with just eight games to go.

اتخذ لاعب ليون حسام عوار قرارًا حاسمًا بشأن مستقبله في النادي الفرنسي، بعد ارتباطه بأكثر من نادِ في موسم الانتقالات الصيفي الحالي.

ويتواجد اللاعب الجزائري على رادار آرسنال ومانشستر سيتي ويوفنتوس وباريس سان جيرمان.

ويُعد آرسنال أكثر الأندية رغبة في ضم عوار هذا الصيف، حيث قدم أكثر من عرض ولكن تم رفضه من قِبل مسؤولي ليون.

وحسب شبكة “rmc” الفرنسية، فإن حسام عوار اجتمع مع إدارة ليون لبحث مستقبله قبل يومين من انتهاء فترة الانتقالات الصيفية الجارية.

وأشارت إلى أن الطرفين اتفقا خلال الاجتماع على بقاء اللاعب في ليون خلال موسم 2020/2021.

وأفادت أن عوار لا يمانع فكرة البقاء مع ليون، خاصة أنه يشعر بحالة جيدة في صفوف الفريق.

من جانبه، قال رئيس نادي ليون جان ميشيل أولاس في تصريحات لشبكة “Get French Football News” العالمية منذ قليل: “حسام عوار سيظل معنا لموسم آخر”.

أصدر نادي بايرن ميونخ الألماني، بيانًا رسميًا، قبل قليل، أعلن خلاله التعاقد مع لاعب جديد، قبل يوم من نهاية سوق الانتقالات الصيفية.

 بايرن بحاجة إلى التعاقد مع صانع ألعاب جديد، بعدما رحل عن صفوفه، الدولي الإسباني، تياجو ألكانتارا لـ ليفربول الإنجليزي.

وقال بايرن ميونخ في بيانه: “لقد نجحنا في الحصول على توقيع مارك روكا، قادمًا من إسبانيول”.

وأضاف: “روكا، صاحب الـ23 عامًا، وقع على عقد مدته خمس سنوات حتى عام 2025”.

ولم يكشف بيان بايرن القيمة المالية للصفقة، ولكن وسائل إعلام ألمانية، ذكرت أنّ بطل دوري أبطال أوروبا، دفع 15 مليون يورو لضم روكا.

ومن جانبه قال روكا: “انا سعيد للغاية، الانتقال إلى هنُا، حلم أصبح حقيقة بالنسبة لي، بايرن ميونخ هو أفضل نادٍ في العالم، وأنا سعيد جدًا لأنني سأرتدي قميص هذا النادي الرائع”.

يُذكر أنّ روكا والذي كان هدفًا لـ ريال مدريد، خاض في موسم 2019/2020، 41 مباراة بمُختلف المسابقات مع إسبانيول، وسجّل هدفين وصنع ثلاثة آخرين.

Masses of Tottenham Hotspur fans are furious on Twitter after the latest batch of reported summer transfer targets emerged.

Per The Daily Mail, Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino have identified Valencia’s Carlos Soler, Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha, Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic and Jack Grealish and Jarrod Bowen of Aston Villa and Hull City respectively, as players they want to see at the New White Hart Lane next season.

The rumour left supporters seething and it’s no surprise either, given that only one of these targets currently plies their trade in the top half of one of the top five European leagues.

That man is Soler with his Valencia side sitting seventh La Liga. Even still, some Lilywhites fans clearly don’t believe he is remotely good enough despite being arguably the pick of the list.

Comments such as “we’re looking at 2nd tier players again” are not digs at the quality of the targets, but literal facts on this occasion as Grealish and Bowen both play in the Sky Bet Championship, neither in the top seven either.

It doesn’t seem like the North London club are being nearly as ambitious as they should given their current position and this has also led a fan to accuse the board of “going backwards,” while others can only sum up their thoughts with disbelief-driven sarcasm, commenting “ambition written all over that” and “wow, some exciting names there.”

Newcastle are on the trail of the next Mesut Özil, but will face competition for his signature from West Ham United, and possibly other clubs across Europe.

According to a report on Turkish Football website, the Magpies have scouted 17-year-old Erkan Eyibil who plays for German Bundesliga side Mainz 05, and is a German national, but has Turkish heritage. Dubbed the new Özil due to his similar playing style, Eyibil has recently been called up to the German U-18 side for the first time, and has just a single year left on his contract.

With Mainz, as yet failing to agree a new contract with the youngster, both Newcastle and West Ham are monitoring the situation, and hoping to get a jump on other European clubs who are sure to be interested.

With Newcastle agreeing (as per the Chronicle) to revamp the academy setup at St James’ Park, Eyibil is exactly the type of prospect that they will be hoping to attract.

Mike Ashley’s policy for incoming transfers is no secret. He clearly wants talented youngsters that the club can nurture, in the hope of saving millions in future transfer fees, or net him a massive profit in any future sale. So it stands to reason that the academy needed to be substantially upgraded to bring the quality of teenagers to the club and provide them with facilities that would compare to other elite clubs around the world.

Signing players like Eyibil would justify the millions of pounds that the new look academy would cost, done largely at the request of Rafa Benitez.

We think players of this calibre are perfect for the club, and rather than him being dubbed the next Mesut Özil, we think he can become the first Erkan Eyibil.

وتابع: “ونزلت اتحاد السباحة ثلاث دورات وفي آخر انتخابات حصلت على عشرة أصوات مقابل أربعة للزميل المنافس من النادي الأهلي، منهم دورتين الأستاذ الفاضل ممدوح عباس أرسل الأفاضل أعضاء مجلس الإدارة لانتخاب الدكتور الفاضل يحيى كمال حلمي”.

وأضاف: “الزمالك بيتي وله أفضال بعد المولى سبحانه وتعالي لقد لعبت له منذ عام ١٩٧٤ سباحا -لاعب كرة ماء- مديرًا فنيا -عضو مجلس إدارة قبل ما ناس كتير تبقى أعضاء في النادي، ونهاية انا عضو مجلس إدارة اللجنة الأولمبية المصرية بالتزكية”.

There aren’t many players in world football who can claim that they can tower over Sheffield Wednesday’s Atdhe Nuhiu.

Standing at a height of 6ft 6, the Kosovo international is an imposing figure for any player to have to deal with, yet this season, he has failed to impress on a consistent basis for the Owls after his best ever campaign last year.

Although Wednesday would end up finishing in an underwhelming 15th place in the Championship in 2018, Nuhui was very effective individually, scoring eleven goals and providing five assists for his team-mates as he proved his worth for the Yorkshire-based outfit.

However, he has yet to show any signs of replicating the same level of performance for Steve Bruce’s side this year having only scored once in his last seven appearances for the club and three in total in all competitions.

Nevertheless, with Steve Fletcher a doubt for his side’s game against Stoke City at the weekend having missed Scotland’s Euro 2020 Qualifiers against Kazakhstan and San Marino due to injury, Nuhui may be given the chance to lead the line alongside Sam Winnall.

With the Owls well-placed for a late play-off push in the Championship, they will undoubtedly benefit from the forward stepping up to the plate in their final eight fixtures as it could make all the difference between whether they achieve a top-six finish in May.

If Nuhiu continues his sporadic form, he could find himself being surplus to requirements at Wednesday in the summer, bringing an end to his six-year stint at Hillsborough. Therefore, in order to save his Owls career, he needs to demonstrate that he can offer a viable alternative to the club’s other forwards.

Although promotion to the Premier League is still a long-shot for Wednesday this season, Bruce will already be planning for the future regardless on how the season ends and ultimately it is up to Nuhiu to prove that he should be part of the former Aston Villa boss’ plans.

وواصل: “موسيماني مدرب جيد، وسيتدارك أخطاء مروان محسن وجيرالدو عندما يرى إمكانيات أحمد الشيخ وجيرالدو”.

استكمل: “مباراة اليوم لابد أن تكون حافزا لمباراة الزمالك غدًا، لأن الوداد كان سيفوز بالدوري المغربي وأداءه اليوم كان سيكلفه 4 أو خمسة أهداف، فماذا عن الرجاء؟!”.

Birmingham City fans will be gutted to see their side now fighting at the wrong end of the table after working their way into a position to challenge for the play-offs. Of course, the Blues’ main aim will be to avoid relegation at this moment in time, with the opportunity to make amends next season. 

Garry Monk will need to bring in a number of players in the summer if he is to make a fist of things next season as Che Adams could depart and Michael Morrison’s future remains uncertain.

However, Monk may have found a young talent who could save the club millions in the future, Jude Bellingham.

Jude Bellingham travelled with Garry Monk’s senior squad for the derby defeat at West Bromwich Albion recently and he filled the role of 19th man, as well as warming up with the first team at The Hawthorns.

The youngster is very highly-rated at St Andrew’s and he could soon get an opportunity in the first team having witnessed Wes Harding’s rise in the Championship.

Birmingham City have managed to produce a number of talents over the years, including the likes of Demarai Gray and Nathan Redmond, so perhaps Jude Bellingham will be the next.

He must be a special talent if he’s already spending time with the first-team squad at the age of 15 but they won’t want to rush him into action as he’s better off developing in the youth ranks.

Although, if he does receive the correct guidance and reaches his full potential then he may just save the club millions in the future, as he has the ability to follow in Gray’s footsteps.
