Jones’ 40 in 30 balls, on his 39th birthday, helped steer Gloucestershire to a five-wicket win over Hampshire in a low-scoring contest at Cheltenham.Chasing only 117 to win, Gloucestershire slipped to 44 for 4 in the eighth over before Jones and Benny Howell, who made an unbeaten 31, steadied the chase with a stand of 61 in 8.4 overs. A couple of dropped catches later, the target was reached with eight balls to spare.”I have batted in that sort of situation so many times and experience definitely helps,” Jones said. “Benny Howell was really calm out there and the bit of drizzle made the ball come on a bit quicker so I could play through the line. It was our best bowling and fielding display in the competition this season and showed the potential of the team. The frustration is that we have not been consistent enough, but that is where we are as a group and there is every prospect of success over the next couple of years.”Hampshire were bowled out for just 116 after losing the toss in overcast conditions on a pitch assisting all types of bowling. Dolphins offspinner Prenelan Subrayen has been cleared to resume bowling after having his action re-tested at CSA’s High Performance Centre on March 2. The assessment found his action to be within the limits of CSA’s regulations, and his suspension has been lifted with immediate effect.Subrayen was earlier reported for a suspect action in November 2015, and was subsequently disallowed from bowling until he remedied his action. He was also pulled up for a suspect action in December 2012 – but was reinstated the following month after clearing his action – and during the Champions League T20 in 2014.Subrayen, who hasn’t played since November, has picked up 44 first-class wickets in 19 matches at an average of 28.79. He has also taken a combined tally of 45 wickets in 56 limited-over games.

East Zone chased down 139 in 22.1 overs, after play was extended by 13 minutes after the mandatory last hour ended at 4.43pm.They were in trouble at 37 for 4 in the eighth over, before Zakir Hasan made a counter-attacking 57 off 43 balls with six fours and three sixes. He was dismissed with 29 runs still required and East Zone also lost Alok Kapali towards the end but Mohammad Saifuddin struck the winning runs at the start of the 23rd over.East Zone had made 392 runs in the first innings, on the back of Kapali’s 291-ball 154, which included 19 fours and a six. Mominul Haque contributed with a brisk 92 while Rahatul Ferdous struck 62.Saifuddin took five wickets and Kamrul Islam Rabbi claimed four as North Zone were bowled out for 173, and asked to follow on. Myshukur Rahaman responded with 131 and Farhad Hossain made 75 as North Zone reached 357 in their second innings. Kapali took 5 for 70, and was awarded the player-of-the-match award.Central Zone consolidated their top position after a draw against South Zone in the adjacent ground in Cox’s Bazar.Batting first, Central Zone posted 425 runs with Raqibul Hasan following up his double-hundred from the previous game with 114 off 174 balls. Shuvagata Hom, Tanveer Haider and Sharifullah made 53, 84 and 60 respectively. Abdur Razzak took 5 for 138.Farhad Reza and Taibur Rahman struck fifties for South Zone as they were bowled out for 312. Mohammad Sharif took three wickets. Shamsur Rahman, Marshall Ayub, Shuvagata and Sharifullah made fifties in Central Zone’s second innings, before their innings was declared at 292 for 6. Elliott is yet to take a call on his T20 career.”I’m going to reassess, let the dust settle,” Elliott told . “As long as I’m still enjoying my cricket, I haven’t really made a call on anything yet. I’ve played my last one-day game, but there are three formats.”The highlight of Elliott’s international career came in his final year of ODI cricket, after he received a surprise recall for the 2015 World Cup; Elliott had not played an ODI since November 2013. In the innings of his life – an unbeaten 84 off 73 balls – in the semi-final against his country of birth, South Africa, at Eden Park, Elliott propelled New Zealand into their first World Cup final. With five runs needed off two balls, Elliott put Dale Steyn over long-on even as cricket’s popularity hit unprecedented highs in New Zealand. “I’ve said it time and time again, this is the greatest time of our lives as players,” McCullum said after that dramatic win. A sua história no futebol foi até 30 de agosto de 1953, quando aposentou-se aos 40 anos. E ele apenas defendeu o Cremas.

O ídolo Lolo Fernández marcou 156 gols pelo Universitario: é o maior artilheiro da história do clube peruano

Na partida final de sua carreira, marcou três gols no clássico com o Allianza Lima. O centroavante é o maior goleador da história do time, com 156 gols. Além do rosto pintado no Setor Oriente, Lolo também foi homenageado com uma estátua na entrada principal, além de imagens espalhadas por todo local.

Em sua trajetória, Lolo Fernández ajudou o Universitário a conquistar seis vezes o título peruano, além de ter sido artilheiro do nacional em sete anos. Lolo faleceu em setembro de 1996, – o projeto do estádio ainda era desenvolvido -, mas está eternizado na memória e em todas homenagens locais, nas quais aparece vestindo uma toca de cozinha na cabeça, em homenagem a sua mãe.

BRASILEIRO MARCOU O PRIMEIRO GOL DO ESTÁDIO

O projeto do estádio iniciou-se em 1991, mas a inauguração aconteceu apenas no dia 2 de julho de 2000. Na inauguração do Monumental, o Universitário venceu o Sporting Cristal por 2 a 0. O primeiro gol da história do estádio foi marcado pelo atacante brasileiro Eduardo Esídio, artilheiro crema naquele ano.

A construção do estádio próprio era um sonho do clube desde a década de 20. Passaram mais de 60 anos até o projeto ser encorpado. Em 1990, os sócios aprovaram por unanimidade o projeto da construção do Monumental e, no dia 18 de janeiro de 1991, a pedra fundamental foi colocada.

A inauguração foi no clássico contra o Sporting Cristal – como citado acima – e, desde então, é a casa dos jogos do Universitário. Estádio de maior capacidade na América do Sul atualmente, o Monumental recebe a seleção peruana esporadicamente. O Peru costuma mandar seus jogos no Estádio Nacional.

O Monumental também foi palco de grandes concertos desde sua inauguração. Recebeu Paul McCartney, em 2011, Guns N´Roses e Rolling Stones, em 2016.
